"WINNING WITHOUT A BATTLE": A SPECIAL MOMENT FOR ACASIA LAWYERS AT THE APPELLATE COURT

At the appellate hearing for the case of "Abusing position and power while performing official duties," the ACASIA legal team experienced a truly remarkable emotional journey.

We entered the courtroom fully prepared for a vigorous legal battle, equipped with a comprehensive defense strategy and meticulously researched arguments aimed at refuting the Prosecutor’s appeal.

However, an unexpected turn of events occurred: as soon as the hearing commenced, the representative of the Prosecutor's Office decided to withdraw their appeal. The Trial Panel subsequently decided to terminate the appellate proceedings, thereby upholding the first-instance judgment favorable to our client—the very outcome we had arduously fought for during the initial trial.

We had prepared for every scenario, yet in the end, there was no need to voice a single word of defense in the courtroom.

While many might call this luck, for us as lawyers, it represents validation of the accuracy and strength of the arguments that ACASIA had constructed since the first-instance trial. The withdrawal of the appeal by the prosecution was the direct result of a serious, scientific, and persuasive litigation process conducted prior to this hearing.

Although our extensive preparations for this appellate hearing were not presented on the podium, the gratitude expressed by our client and their family confirms that this is the greatest success in the legal profession.

The journey of defending a client is not always marked by fiery debates; sometimes, the best possible outcome stems from the thorough preparation required to be ready for any circumstance.
